Temporary Tradesman Parking Permits
The temporary 3 month permit has been introduced to allow persons working on longer term projects at a property, land or on the highway within the boundaries of a permit parking scheme to park with an exemption from the permit parking scheme restrictions.
Cost
3 month tradesman permits cost £20.00 each, payable in one lump sum.
How to apply
Applications for permits or scratchcards will need to be submitted online or by post. Please allow 14 days for your application to be processed.

Provide evidence that you are working at a property within the scheme such as contract for the work, an estimate or quotation, invoice or planning permission. The documentation should be on letterhead paper from the tradesman. If work is being carried out on the road or an area of land next to the road but not within an inhabited property then documentation confirming the work has been commissioned should be supplied.
You can apply for a maximum of 3 temporary works permit at any one time. Permits may be renewed pending on further information supplied confirming that work is ongoing in the area.

What do I do if I lose my permit or it is stolen?
We require written notification from the permit holder that the permit has been lost or stolen, together with payment of an administrative charge of £10. Please send your notification to parkingpermits@newcastle.gov.uk quoting “lost permit” in the subject line and including your name, full address and telephone number so that we may contact you to take payment for the administration charge.
What are the Terms and Conditions of use?
Information on using the permit correctly can be found on the reverse of the permit and also on the application form. The permit cannot be used unless the tradesmen is actively working at a property within a permit scheme. Using the permit for other purposes is classed as misuse and can result in the issue of Penalty Charge Notices and the revocation of the permit.
