Catalogue

The library catalogue is called Discover | Newcastle Libraries, you can manage your membership and account by logging in with your 8-digit library card number and 4-digit PIN.

Account

In Discover | Newcastle Libraries, you can

• Print your library membership card or display it on a smart phone
• Set your account preferences and contact information
• Link family accounts together so they can be managed in one place
• Reset your PIN/Password

Reserving items

If an item is listed as 'in stock' in Discover you can reserve the item online for free. We'll let you know when it is ready to be collected from your nominated branch.

Renewing loans online

Log in to your library account to renew items you have on loan. You can renew items on loan to you except where the item has been reserved by another customer. Please return your library books promptly to enable other customers to enjoy them.

Inter-Library loan service

If the title you're looking for isn't in our collection it may be possible to borrow it from another library in the UK, most commonly the British Library. We will search the national public library catalogue and the British Library catalogue to locate and source items for you. There is a charge of £6.89 per item for this service. If you would like us to arrange an Inter-Library Loan for you, please complete this simple form.
