Newcastle's youth lorry, containing decks, play-stations and food/drink for young people under 18 has come to Kenton.
The project, part-funded by Kenton Committee and Northumbria Police, is one of the latest youth projects aimed at young people. The lorry will based behind Kenton Retail centre and will operate every Monday night from 6.00pm to 8.00pm for the next three months.
Councillor Stephen Lambert, chair of the Kenton Committee, said: '' This project is great news for local young people and is a welcome addition to other new projects for young people like the Junior Youth club and the Rainbows.''
''Youth work is an important diversionary activity. It also plays a key role for young people and youth provision provides a range of meaningful and fulfilling activities for young people under 18,'' he added.
Other activities for young people and children include:
• Youth Club - Tuesday evening 6.00pm to 8.00pm at Kenton Park Sports Centre
• Junior Youth Club - Tuesday afternoon 3.00pm to 5.30pm at Kenton Park Sports Centre.
