Youth Leaders debating the reality of Children's Rights

In Newcastle we held our first Child Friendly City Young People’s reference group meeting.  Young people who feel passionate about the City or who want to make a difference about the place where we live got involved.  For our first meeting we debated the importance of children’s rights and what rights mean to people.

We need more young people to get involved?  You don’t need to know a lot about children’s rights, you need to know what’s important to young people.  You need to be motivated to work with other young people to find solutions.  If you like to find out more information, get in touch by emailing Louise Cameron.  Our next meeting is Wednesday 15th January 2020 from 5pm until 7pm (leaflet link).  This a group for any young person who lives, learns or works in Newcastle aged between 11-18 years.  The group would like more young people to get involved and they plan to meet at least twice a month.
