For the next 11 weeks the Grainger Market will be home to an Elmer pop-up charity shop for St Oswald's Children's Hospice.
Yesterday (21 August) the Great North Elmer Parade launched in the North East, with 40 large and 114 little Elmer's popping up across the region.
Organised by St Oswald's Children's Hospice, the parade is raising vital funds for St Oswald's Children's Hospice, a charity providing care, love and support to babies, children and young adults with complex needs.
As part the parade, the Grainger Market has become home to a St Oswald's Children's Hospice pop-up store that is selling a range of Elmer merchandise including money pots, pin badges and cuddly toys. All of the money raised through sales in the store goes towards funding the Children's Hospice.
"We have to raise all the 7.5 million pounds each year to keep the hospice going to make sure that we can have the best support within the hospice of the families and patients."

The store also sells re-purposed furniture and other decorative goods that have been donated to the charity. Once the Elmer trail finishes in November the store will be transformed into a Christmas Store in time for the festive season.
After the 11 week trail there will be a farewell weekend and an auction, where the sculptures will be sold to raise funds for St Oswald's Hospice.
As part of the trail you can download an app for 99p, all of the funds go to the charity, and find all the Elmer's across the North East including Newcastle, North Shields and Sunderland.
