Kenton Clean Up

Many thanks to those residents who joined us in replanting the tubs/barrier planters on Mallowburn Crescent Shops, North Kenton shops, Kenton Road shops and Kenton Lane.  This all adds a bit of colour to the local neighbourhood and is good for the environment.

Litter picks took place across Kenton Park and Kenton Dene throughout summer and Autumn. The group collected more than 10 bags full of rubbish from hedges, bushes, gutters and removed a fly-tipped freezer, TV, shopping trolley and a kid's seat before the grass cutting team moved in to tidy up borders and green spaces.

The Council and YHN spend a huge of amount of money and effort keeping Kenton Ward clean. It's an ongoing problem.  They can't be everywhere at once.  We need the help of residents to tackle the litter.  The 'Keep Britain Tidy' campaign gave us the chance to celebrate the good work that goes on to keep Kenton clean and tidy for local people to enjoy.  Thank you to everyone and the scores of volunteers and Urban Green who show pride in their local neighbourhood for all they do.

The Council and YHN have join forces to unveil winter Estate ‘Blitz’/Clean ups starting with Kenton Bar estate on the 10 November 2021 followed by more enforcement action to tackle fly-tippers.

There's been a big increase in the number of people who have started litter-picking during the pandemic.  The Council can provide Hi-Viz vests, litter hoops, gloves and bags for interested groups, Email hello@yourcity.yourhome.co.uk

Race-course fencing has been installed in Fawlee Green, Dunnykirk Avenue  with a plan to install more on Beal Green to keep vehicles off grassed public areas.

Councillor Ged Bell, Vice-Chair, Kenton Ward Committee said: ‘’Getting the little things right on Kenton Bar is our priority. If there’s a litter/fly-tip ‘hot spot’ near where you live let us know straightaway.’’
