Voters in a part of Newcastle will get the opportunity to elect two councillors in the forthcoming local elections.
It follows the resignation for personal reasons of Independent councillor Sandra Davison who served Chapel ward in the outer west since 2019.
It means voters in Chapel ward will be able to vote for two councillors when they go to the polls on Thursday May 6.
In all 28 seats will be contested across the city – one in each of the 26 wards - and two in Chapel and Byker where there are now two vacancies.
